The Sturge-Weber Foundation Presents Searin' Suzy

The SWF annual fund raising tribute dinner this year was held at the Westin Hotel in San Antonio, Texas on Friday, February 1st and was appropriately called "Searin' Suzy". This lighthearted event was in recognition of honoree Dr. Suzanne Kilmer, dermatologist., of Sacramento, CA. Dr. Eric Bernstein and Dr. George Hruza were the Masters of Ceremonies. Melanie Wood, board member, chaired another successful event for the SWF. Thank you to our corporate sponsors for generously supporting "Searin Suzy."

The Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove was the scene of the first ever SWF Golf Outing on Long Island on Monday, October 2, 2006. 140 people attended the gala event, chaired by Honorary Board Member Dick Droesch. In addition to playing golf all day on the beautiful fairways on a warm sunny day, the participating golfers and guests enjoyed a morning reception and brunch and an evening cocktail reception and buffet dinner. The live and silent auction items went fast with Dick personally acting as the Grand Auctioneer. Bidding was brisk as rounds of golf at Pine Valley CC, Sebonack CC, Maidstone CC, Shinnecock CC, Loblolly Pines CC, Merion CC, Deepdale CC, National Golf Links CC.

The Droesch/Brown families were the sparkplugs for the event. 6 year old Kate Brown, daughter of Jackie and Todd and granddaughter of Dick Droesch, is the inspiration for their endeavors.
