The Sturge Weber Foundation

Nine families, including five children attended the Education Day at the Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Saturday, November 6.

According to CEO Karen Ball, the day was abuzz with parents exchanging stories about their children and visiting with the doctors about next steps.  Dr. John Bodensteiner and his staff were the hosts as the group listened to lectures by Dr. B, Dr. Brendan Cassidy, ophthalmologist and Dr.Gerald Goldberg, dermatologist.

Connie K. handled the childcare details so the kids could have a fun time together while their parents had the quality time they need for learning and networking.

Each family received an autographed copy of the 2^nd Edition textbook Sturge-Weber Syndrome complements of Dr. Bodensteiner.

“It was good to see old friends and meet some new ones of varying ages, varying SWS issues, but the same eagerness to gain information on how to best manage the syndrome  and to do all they could for their loved ones.”
